Making frozen hamburgers in an air fryer is so easy! Ready in just 20 minutes you will love how juicy and tender the burgers turn out. They are so much easier and healthier than fast food, but they taste just as good!

Burgers, like air fryer turkey burgers, duck burgers, and easy pork burgers are some of my favourite meals, which is why I can't wait to teach you how to cook frozen burger patties in the air fryer. This cooking method is perfect when you are short on time and don't feel like cooking!

Why you will love this cooking method:

    • They are so quick and easy to make and it saves so much time since you don't have to defrost your hamburgers ahead of time. They are ready in just 20 minutes and the clean up is so simple! Just like making air fryer frozen fish sticks and air fryer frozen chicken wings.
    • These burgers turn out perfectly juicy and tender even though they are cooked from frozen.
    • They are a healthier alternative to fast food that you can whip up at home in no time.

If you love cooking frozen food in your air fryer you will love making frozen steak in an air fryer too!

    Ingredient notes:

Frozen beef hamburger patties - I personally use grass fed and grass finished all beef hamburger patties but you can use any type of frozen burger patty that you like. Note that this cook method is for beef burger patties and I have not tested it for other types of frozen burgers such as turkey burgers or chicken burgers.

How to make frozen hamburgers in an air fryer:

Two frozen hamburger patties on an air fryer tray.
    1. Step 1: First, place the frozen hamburger patties onto the tray or basket of your air fryer and then cook them for 10-12 minutes at 370 degrees Fahrenheit.

    1. Step 2: Next, flip the burger patties and cook them for another 10-12 minutes at 370 degrees Fahrenheit, until the burgers are cooked through.

    Important note:

This cooking method is for well done burgers. It is dangerous to eat raw or undercooked ground beef and so it is recommended that all ground beef be cooked to an internal temperature of 160 °F. If you do prefer your burgers rare, or undercooked, you would need to decrease the cook time, but because of the risks associated with eating beef that way I do not recommend doing so.

    Top tips:

    • For this recipe I do not preheat my air fryer - if you do preheat your air fryer decrease the cook time by a few minutes.
    • Depending on the size of your hamburger patties you may have to adjust the cook time.
    • Note that if your air fryer is a rack style air fryer like mine, the patties on the lower rack will take longer to cook than the patties on the upper rack so be prepared to cook them a little longer.
    • Be sure to leave a little space around the hamburger patties when they are in the air fryer so that they can cook properly - if air can't circulate around the hamburgers they won't cook well.

    How to serve:

Feel free to top your burger with your favourite condiments and garnishes such as ketchup, homemade healthy mayonnaise, cheese, healthy bbq sauce, tomato, lettuce, pickles or bacon.

You can serve burgers with so many different side dishes but some of my favourites include air fryer French fries, air fryer waffle fries, simple healthy broccoli salad, Asian coleslaw and Whole30 loaded potato salad.

Frozen hamburgers in an air fryer FAQs:

Do I need to preheat my air fryer?

For this air fryer recipe you do not need to preheat your air fryer. If you choose to preheat it, subtract a few minutes from the burger cooking time.

How do I store leftover hamburgers?

If you have leftover beef burger patties, store them in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

How do I reheat burgers in my air fryer?

To reheat leftover burgers in your air fryer cook them for 2-3 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
