Air fryer fish sticks are the best! They are so quick and easy to make because they are cooked from frozen. They turn out perfectly crispy and delicious and are healthier than deep fried fish sticks. They’re the perfect kid-friendly meal that will taste like you ordered fast food.

Why you will love this recipe:

  • Air fried fish sticks turn out so crisp and delicious! No soggy fish sticks here. They are just as delicious as deep fried fish sticks, but are so much healthier since you don’t have all that extra oil.
  • They are really easy to make and are ready in under 15 minutes. And because you aren’t deep frying them the clean up is a breeze.
  • You don’t need to thaw the fish sticks before cooking them. You cook them right from frozen!
  • The clean up is so simple because they are made in the air fryer. You just throw the trays in the dishwasher when you’re done.

Ingredients and substitutions:

  • Frozen fish sticks – you can use homemade or store bought, whichever you prefer. Any brand of frozen breaded fish sticks will work including Gorton’s fish sticks, Great Value fish sticks, Mrs. Paul’s fish sticks, and Fisher Boys fish sticks.
  • Spray oil (this is optional depending on the type of air fryer that you have) – I prefer using avocado oil for this but you can also use olive oil.
  • Fresh lemons (also optional) – to give these fish sticks a fresh squeeze of lemon juice once they’ve finished cooking.

How to cook:

Step one:

Just put the frozen fish sticks on the tray of your air fryer and cook them at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes.

Chef’s tips:

  • Every model of air fryer is different so you may have to adjust the cooking times slightly depending on the model that you have.
  • When placing the frozen fish sticks on the trays or basket of your air fryer, put them in a single layer, do not overlap them or they won’t cook properly.
  • Depending on the size of the fish sticks you use, you may have to adjust the cooking time.
  • The fish sticks on the lower rack will take a couple extra minutes to cook compared to the ones on the top rack.
  • If food tends to stick to your air fryer, spray the basket or trays with a cooking oil such as avocado oil or olive oil before placing the fish sticks on them.
  • If you have leftover cooked fish sticks, store them in an air tight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Then reheat them when you are ready.

Serving ideas for fish sticks:

  • Turn these into air fryer fish and chips by serving them with air fryer French fries.
  • Dip them in tartar sauce or my lemon dill aioli.
  • Pair them with a salad such as a Caesar salad, healthy broccoli salad, or homemade coleslaw.
  • Squeeze a little fresh lemon on the cooked fish sticks.
