Air fryer lamb chops turn out perfectly every time. They're full of flavour, so juicy and tender, and really easy to make. They take less than ten minutes to cook and are made with pantry staples like balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper.

A cooked lamb chop on a plate with fresh parsley as garnish.

Why you will love this recipe:

    • Lamb chops in air fryer have the most incredible flavour and turn out so juicy and tender. Never dry or chewy.
    • The are really easy to make.
    • These air fried lamb chops take less than 10 minutes to cook.
    • It's made with pantry staples like balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
    • The clean up is so simple because these lamb chops are cooked in the air fryer.
    • This lamb chop recipe is naturally gluten free, paleo, Whole30 and keto or low carb friendly.

    Ingredients and substitutions:

    • Lamb chops - the base of this delicious recipe. I personally use pasture raised, grass fed lamb but you can choose any type of lamb chops that you like. I recommend using lamb chops with the bone in for more flavour and tenderness.
    • Avocado oil (or olive oil) - to help give these lamb chops that nice juicy texture and prevent them from sticking to the air fryer. You could swap this for olive oil.
    • Balsamic vinegar - this helps give these chops such a delicious flavour and help tenderize the meat.
    • Herbes de Provence spice blend - one of my favourite seasonings! You could also swap this for another spice blend of your choice.
    • Salt and pepper - to add just a bit more flavour to these air fried lamb chops.

    How to make this recipe:

    Step one:

Add the oil and vinegar to a baking dish and add the lamb chops. Turn the lamb chops over a few times to coat them on both sides. Sprinkle the lamb chops with the spices until they are coated well. Place the dish in the fridge and allow the lamb chops to marinate for 30-60 minutes.

Lamb chops being marinaded in a glass dish.

    Step two:

Transfer the lamb chops to your air fryer and cook them for 7-9 minutes at 390F. Then serve and enjoy!

Four lamb chops on an air fryer tray.

    Chef's tips:

    • Depending on the size of your lamb chops you may need to adjust the cooking time slightly.
    • Every model of air fryer is different, so if you are using a different one you may need to adjust the cooking time.
    • The lamb chops on the lower rack will take 1-2 extra minutes to cook compared to the ones on the top rack.
    • I prefer my lamb chops rare to medium rare, so if you like them more well done you will need to add more cooking time.
    • Let the lamb chops rest for a couple minutes after you finish cooking them to allow them to absorb the juices and become even more tender!
    • If you have any leftover lamb chops, store them in the fridge in an air tight container for up to 3 days.

    Variations and add ins:

    • To give these lamb chops a different flavour feel free to add other spices such as garlic powder or onion powder.
    • Feel free to change up the spices in this lamb chop recipe to give them a different taste.
    • Instead of balsamic vinegar, try another sweet vinegar such as blueberry vinegar or cherry vinegar.
    • Instead of avocado oil you can use olive oil.

What to serve with lamb chops:

    • Easy green beens with slivered almonds
    • Honey Glazed Carrots and Parsnips
    • Healthy Broccoli Salad
    • Healthy Potato Salad

    How to store:

Store any leftover lamb chops in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

    Frequently asked questions:

Can I cook chops in air fryer?

Yes! It's so easy to cook lamb chops in the air fryer. It just takes 7 minutes at 390F.

What temp should you cook lamb chops?

I have found that lamb chops cook best at 390F when cooked in the air fryer.

What temperature should lamb chops be?

Lamb chops are rare at an internal temperature of 120F, medium rare at 125F, medium at 130F, and well done at 145F or higher. Lamb chops taste best when cooked between rare and medium. If cooked longer they take on a gamey flavour and become more tough and chewy.

How long do you cook lamb chops in air fryer?

To cook lamb chops in the air fryer I recommend cooking them for 7-9 minutes at 390 degrees Fahrenheit. This will make lamb chops that are between rare and medium, which is when they taste the best.
