This is the best air fryer lamb chops recipe! They're full of flavour, so juicy and tender, and really easy to make. These chops take less than ten minutes to cook and are made with pantry staples like balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper.

A cooked lamb chop on a plate with fresh parsley as garnish.

Air fryers are great for making delicious meals quickly like air fryer frozen steak, air fryer Mahi Mahi and air fryer salmon patties, which is why I can't wait for you to make the air fried lamb chops recipe I am sharing with you today.

Why you will love this recipe:

    • The taste! These lamb chops have the most incredible flavour and turn out so juicy and tender. They are never dry or chewy and don't have a gamey flavour.
    • They are so quick and easy to make and take less than 10 minutes to cook, just like easy air fryer scallops.
    • This lamb chop recipe is healthy, gluten free, paleo, Whole30, keto and low carb friendly just like air fryer chicken wings, air fryer turkey burgers and air fryer ribs.

    Ingredients and substitutions:

For the full ingredient list and exact measurements refer to the recipe card later in this post.

    • Lamb chops - I recommend using lamb chops with the bone in for more flavour and tenderness.
    • Balsamic vinegar - this is used to make the marinade that helps give these lamb chops such a delicious flavour and helps tenderize the meat.
    • Avocado oil or extra virgin olive oil - either of these neutral oils can be used to make the meat marinade for these chops.
    • Herbes de Provence spice blend - one of my favourite seasonings to give this lamb recipe so much flavour! You could also swap this for another spice blend of your choice.

    Recipe variations and add ins:

    • To give these lamb chops a different flavour: add other spices such as garlic powder or onion powder. You could also add fresh herbs to the marinade such as fresh rosemary, fresh oregano, fresh garlic cloves or fresh mint.
    • Instead of balsamic vinegar, you could try another sweet vinegar such as blueberry vinegar or cherry vinegar to make the marinade.

How to make air fryer lamb chops:

Lamb chops in a glass dish with spices on them and sitting in a marinade.
    1. Step 1: Add the oil and vinegar to a baking dish and add the lamb chops. Turn the lamb chops over a few times to coat them on both sides. Sprinkle the lamb chops with the spices until they are coated well. Place the dish in the fridge and allow the lamb chops to marinate for 30-60 minutes.
Seasoned lamb chops on an air fryer tray.
    1. Step 2: Transfer the lamb chops to your air fryer and cook them for 7-9 minutes at 390 degrees Fahrenheit. Then serve and enjoy!

    Top Tips:

    • Depending on the size of your lamb chops you may need to adjust the cook time. Smaller lamb chops will take less time.
    • You do not need to preheat your air fryer for this recipe. If you do preheat it decrease the cook time by 2-3 minutes.
    • Every model of air fryer is different, so if you are using a different one you may need to adjust the cooking time.
    • Make sure you put the lamb chops in a single layer in your air fryer. If they overlap they won't cook properly.
    • The lamb chops on the lower rack will take 1-2 extra minutes to cook compared to the ones on the top rack.
    • I prefer my lamb chops rare to medium rare, so if you like them more well done you will need to add more cooking time. Just note that more well done chops will be less tender.
    • Let the lamb chops rest for a couple minutes after you finish cooking them to allow them to absorb the juices and become even more tender!

    How to serve:

Lamb chops can be served with many different side dishes and some of my favourites include easy green beans with slivered almonds, honey glazed carrots and parsnips, air fryer baked sweet potatoes, sweet potato rice, gluten-free broccoli salad and loaded potato salad.

Cooked lamb chops on a plate garnished with fresh parsley.

    Air fryer lamb chops FAQs:

What temperature should lamb chops be?

Lamb chops are rare at an internal temperature of 120F, medium rare at 125F, medium at 130F, and well done at 145F or higher. Lamb chops taste best when cooked between rare and medium. If cooked longer they take on a gamey flavour and become more tough and chewy.

    How should I store leftovers?

Store any leftover lamb chops in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
