Why you will love this recipe:

    • These air fryer frozen onion rings turn out perfectly! Nice and crispy on the outside yet light and tender on the inside.
    • There is no need to deep fry these onion rings, making them a healthier option than frying your onion rings in all that oil - it's also so much cleaner as you don't have to worry about grease spraying all over your stovetop or kitchen.
    • These onion rings are so easy to make since you cook them from frozen.
    • They and are ready in under 10 minutes - you'll never need to order fast food again!
    • Onion rings are also a great option for vegan and vegetarian diets and can easily be made gluten free by making your own onion rings or buying pre-made gluten free onion rings.

    Ingredients and substitutions:

    • Frozen onion rings - you can use either store bought pre-made onion rings or homemade onion rings. Whichever you prefer! Any brand of frozen onion rings will do including Cavendish Farms onion rings, Alexia onion rings, Nathan's onion rings, TGI Friday's onion rings, Red Robin onion rings, Great Value onion rings, Kineret onion rings and more!

    How to cook:

    Step one:

Simply place the frozen onion rings on the racks of your air fryer and cook them for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Optional step:

Alternatively, you could preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and then cook the frozen onion rings for 5-7 minutes.

How to cook frozen onion rings if you have a basket style air fryer:

First, preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then add the frozen onion rings to the air fryer basket and cook them for 4-5 minutes, shaking the basket half way through to ensure they cook evenly.

    Chef's tips:

    • Every model of air fryer is different so you may need to adjust the cooking time slightly.
    • Try not to overlap the onion rings when you cook them or they won't cook evenly.
    • Depending on the size of your air fryer you may need to cook the onion rings in batches.
    • If you don't cook all the frozen onion rings, simply seal the bag and store them in the freezer.
    • If you have leftover cooked onion rings, store them in the fridge in an air tight container for up to 5 days.

    Variations and add ins:

    • You can use either homemade onion rings or store bought pre-made onion rings for this recipe.
    • This method would also work for making frozen beer battered onion rings in an air fryer.
    • To make this recipe gluten free ensure you are using gluten free onion rings.
