    What is a pornstar martini?

A pornstar martini is a passion-fruit-flavoured cocktail made with vanilla vodka, Passoã, fresh passionfruit juice, and lime juice. It is classically served with a side car of Prosecco or champagne as a palate cleanser before enjoying the cocktail.

The drink doesn't actually contain vermouth but is served in a martini coupe glass which is why it's called a martini. Because of its controversial name, some people prefer to call it a passion star or passionfruit martini instead.

The mocktail version of the drink is simply a version made without alcohol.

Why you will love this recipe:

    • The flavour! This passionfruit martini mocktail has the most delicious sweet and refreshing taste.
    • This drink is quick and easy to make.
    • It's simple enough to make anytime but is tasty enough to serve to guests at parties, holidays and events.
    • It's healthy and made with no alcohol.
    • This virgin pornstar martini is safe for everyone to drink including kids, teens, pregnant women, and those who are breastfeeding.

If you are looking for more non-alcoholic drinks you will also love my virgin Moscow mule and the best lavender mint lemonade.

    Pornstar martini mocktail ingredients:

The ingredients needed to make a pornstar martini mocktail separated into small bowls.
    • Passion fruit puree - You get the passion fruit puree from fresh passion fruits. You can find fresh passion fruits in the produce section of most grocery stores.
    • Passion fruit juice - to help naturally sweeten this passion fruit martini mocktail. If you can find it I recommend using 100% pure passion fruit juice rather than a passion fruit juice mix or passion fruit juice from concentrate.
    • Pineapple juice - when combined with the passion fruit juice, the pineapple juice creates the most delicious, sweet tropical flavour. I recommend using pure pineapple juice rather than a pineapple juice mix.
    • Vanilla simple syrup - this adds even more sweet flavour to this drink while also enhancing all the other flavours. You can either make your own vanilla sugar syrup or buy it premade.
    • Lime juice - fresh lime juice adds the perfect amount of sour taste to this virgin drink which contrasts perfectly with the sweet juices and vanilla syrup. I recommend using freshly squeezed lime juice if possible.

    Recipe variations and add ins:

    • If you are serving a crowd you can double or triple this recipe.
    • If you don't have pineapple juice you can use apple juice instead.
    • Instead of vanilla simple syrup you can use maple syrup.
    • If you like a stronger lime flavour add more lime juice.
    • Feel free to add a splash of orange juice to give this drink a different flavour.

How to make a pornstar martini mocktail:

A cocktail shaker with passion fruit juice and seeds in it.

    Step 1

First, cut the passion fruits in half and scoop the pulp and seeds into a cocktail shaker.

    Step 2

Now add the remaining ingredients to the cocktail shaker.

    Step 3

Shake the drink to combine all the ingredients and then strain it into 2 martini glasses to enjoy!

    Top tips:

    • I highly recommend using a cocktail shaker to make this drink. It's tricky to make without one.
    • Be sure to strain the drink when you pour it into the glasses to remove any seeds or puree that makes it out of the cocktail shaker (see the step by step photo above). Otherwise you will end up with passion fruit seeds in your drink.
    • Use ice cubes rather than crushed ice for making this drink. Ice cubes are perfect to cool the drink off without diluting it too much.
    • Shake, don't stir your mocktail. Shaking is better at cooling a drink than stirring is because the liquid is repeatedly in contact with the ice cubes. Since this drink is served without ice cubes in it, you want it to be nice and cold when poured from the shaker.

    How to serve:

This passion fruit mocktail is best served right after it's made so that it's nice and cold. This drink is classically served in martini glasses, but if you don't have any you can use any other type of cocktail glass or even wine glasses. This drink is classically garnished with passion fruit, but you don't have to garnish it if you don't want. You could also garnish this pornstar martini mocktail with other ingredients such as a lime slice, an edible flower, or fresh fruit.

    Pornstar martini mocktail FAQs:

Why is it called a pornstar martini?

The rumour is that the drink got its name because of its beautiful bright colour. It was felt that it "looked like something a pornstar would drink."

What is the difference between a cocktail and a mocktail?

Cocktails contain alcohol, while mocktails are simply the non-alcoholic version of the same drink.

Can I make this drink ahead of time?

This drink is best served right after it's made when it's nice and cold. However, you can also make it ahead of time and keep it in the fridge for a few hours to keep it cold before serving.
