Why you will love this recipe:

    • The taste! This lemonade is slightly sweet and a little tangy and is so refreshing. Just like my blueberry mint lemonade is!
    • It's quick and easy to make and is made with just a few simple ingredients.
    • This healthy lemonade mocktail is gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar free and vegan. It's also made without alcohol and without vodka.
    • It's the perfect virgin cocktail for spring and summer and is great to bring to picnics, barbecues, tailgates or parties.

If you love refreshing drinks you will also love my pink lemonade smoothie, apple cider vinegar and lemon juice recipe and lavender and mint lemonade.

    Ingredients and substitutions:

The ingredients needed to make huckleberry lemonade including maple syrup, water, lemon juice and huckleberry syrup separated into bowls.
    • Lemon juice - fresh lemon juice is the star of any great lemonade. I recommend using freshly squeezed lemon juice rather than bottled lemon juice for the best flavour.
    • Maple syrup - this is used to add natural sweetness to this drink to help contrast the tart flavour of the lemon juice. You could also sweeten this lemonade with honey if you prefer.
    • Huckleberry syrup - huckleberry syrup gives this lemonade its unique flavour. You can either use homemade huckleberry syrup, or use pre-made huckleberry syrup. When shopping for huckleberry simple syrup try and find one made without artificial flavours if possible so that this drink has the best huckleberry flavour possible.
    • Water - to help ensure the ingredients aren't too concentrated.

    Fun recipe twists:

    • If you are serving a crowd feel free to double or triple this recipe.
    • To turn this into a huckleberry lemonade vodka cocktail you can add huckleberry vodka.
    • To make this into a huckleberry lemonade cocktail instead of vodka you could add gin.
    • Turn this into sparkling lemonade by using 1 cup of soda water and 1 cup still water to make it.
    • This huckleberry lemonade recipe is adaptable - if you like it less sweet add less maple syrup. If you like it sweeter, add a little more.
    • To make this lemonade extra zesty, add a bit of fresh ginger!

    How to make huckleberry lemonade:

A large glass pitcher with a pink drink in it.
    1. Step 1: First, place all the ingredients into a pitcher.

    Huckleberry lemonade FAQs:

    Does lemonade have electrolytes?

Yes lemonade has electrolytes. Lemon juice contains electrolytes including sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. So by using fresh lemon juice to make lemonade your lemonade will naturally contain electrolytes.

How should I store this lemonade?

This lemonade stores well in the fridge for up to 24 hours. You can easily prepare it ahead of time and make it the day before an event so it's ready to serve when you need it.

    Is huckleberry lemonade sweet?

It is usually a sweet drink, but if you prefer it to be less sweet then you can add less sweetener.
