    • They are so quick and easy to make and only require 5 ingredients!
    • These homemade chocolate popsicles are healthy compared to other popsicle recipes and are naturally gluten-free, dairy-free, paleo, vegan and refined sugar free.

    • These chocolate avocado fudgesicles are simple enough to make anytime, but also delicious enough to serve to guests at parties, barbecues, tailgates, picnics and more.

    Ingredients and substitutions:

The ingredients needed to make avocado fudgesicles separated into small bowls.
    • Avocados - the flesh from ripe avocados are used to make this chocolate treat so rich and creamy. Be sure the avocados you have are ripe and not too hard or they won't work for this recipe.
    • Cocoa power or cacao powder - either of these can be used to give these fudgesicles their dark chocolate flavour.
    • Maple syrup - is used to sweeten these avocado fudgesicles and keeps this dessert refined sugar free. Instead of maple syrup you could also use honey.
    • Coconut milk - this is used to help blend all the ingredients together so they get super smooth and creamy. I recommend using full fat coconut milk and not low fat coconut milk as it is too watery. Instead of coconut milk you could use another type of milk such as cashew milk or almond milk too.

    Recipe variations and add ins:

    • Feel free to drizzle a little melted chocolate on these avocado fudgesicles before enjoying them to give them even more chocolate flavour and make them look even more decadent.
    • You could add some chocolate chips to turn them into double chocolate popsicles!

    How to make avocado fudgesicles:

A blender filled with avocado flesh and cocoa powder.

    Step 1

First, add all the ingredients to your high speed blender.

A popsicle mold with popsicle sticks sticking out of the top.

    Step 2

Blend everything well until you have a smooth liquid and then transfer the liquid to your popsicle mold and add the popsicle sticks.

A popsicle mold with chocolate popsicles in it.

    Step 3

Cover the mold and place it in the freezer for 6 hours, or overnight. When you are ready to eat the fudgesicles, remove them from the mold and enjoy!

    Top tips:

    • Be sure to use ripe avocados so that the flesh is nice and soft. Unripe avocados won't work.
    • If you don't have a high speed blender you could use a food processor to blend the ingredients instead.
    • If you use a plastic popsicle mold run it under hot water for a few seconds after you take it out of the freezer to make the fudgesicles easier to remove from the mold.
    • These popsicles are best served shortly after they have been taken out of the freezer. If you let them sit for too long they will start to melt.

    Avocado fudgesicles FAQs:

    Are these fudgesicles keto?

No these fudgesicles are not low carb or keto.

    Are these fudgesicles paleo?

    Yes they are.

    Are these fudgesicles sugar free?

No they are not. They are refined sugar free and low in sugar compared to other fudgesicle recipes however.

    Do they taste like avocado?

No they don't. These avocado fudgesicles taste like rich dark chocolate and you can't taste the avocado at all.

How should I store these fudgesicles?

Store these avocado fudgesicles in the freezer for up to 3 months. You can store them in the popsicle mold.
