Easy snacks like bacon jerky are some of my favourite, which is why I am so excited for you to try the roasted pecan recipe I am sharing with you today.

Why you will love this recipe:

    • The flavour and texture! These pecans are sweet, a little savoury, and so crunchy.
    • They are quick and easy to make and you only need 5 ingredients to make them.
    • This healthy snack is naturally gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar free.
    • These homemade glazed pecans make the perfect gift or on the go snack.
    • They were inspired by honey dijon chips, but this version is so much healthier!

    Ingredients and substitutions:

    • Pecans - I recommend using raw pecans, not roasted pecans for this recipe.
    • Honey - honey adds natural sweetness and the most delicious flavour to these pecans while keeping them refined sugar free. I have not tried making these pecans with any other sweeteners and don't recommend trying it.
    • Dijon mustard - the dijon mustard adds a unique flavour to these pecans. But don't worry, they don't taste like mustard! You can use any type of dijon mustard that you like.
    • Avocado oil - the helps give the nuts the perfect crunchy texture when you roast the pecans. You could swap this for olive oil.
    • Sea salt - this contrasts so well with the sweetness of the honey glaze on these pecans to give them the best taste.

    Recipe variations and add ins:

    • You can easily double or triple this recipe if you want to make a large batch to have for gifting or for meal prep.
    • To change up the flavour you could use a flavoured dijon mustard.

How to make roasted honey dijon pecans:

    Step one:

First, preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Step two:

Place all the ingredients into a large bowl and stir well until the pecans are coated evenly.

    Step three:

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and transfer the pecans onto it, spreading them out into an even layer.

    Step four:

Bake the pecans for 18-20 minutes, or until starting to brown. Then let them cool and enjoy!

    How to serve:

These pecans are great as a quick snack or an appetizer but they can also be used as a homemade gift or added to other dishes such as for topping salads.

    How to store:

Store these honey glazed pecans in an airtight container or jar for up to 60 days. They can also be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 months. You can also freeze these nuts in a freezer bag or airtight container for up to 6 months.

    Roasted honey dijon pecans FAQs:

Can I make these roasted pecans vegan?

I have not tried making these pecans with a vegan sweetener so I am not sure how they would turn out. If you do want to try it, I would use maple syrup.

Are glazed and candied pecans the same?

Glazed pecans and candied pecans are not the same thing. Glazed pecans are made with liquid sweetness such as honey or corn syrup, while candied pecans are usually made with powdered sugar and egg whites.

    Do they taste like mustard?

No they don't so if you don't like mustard don't worry you are still going to love these pecans.

I used to love mustard pretzels and these sound like they would be similar. Crunchy, savory, and addictive. What a great idea- I know I would love them!
