A white bowl filled with different dried herbs and spices, including black pepper, oregano, paprika, salt, onion powder, garlic powder and cumin.
    • For this seasoning blend you will need: oregano, ground cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika (or regular paprika), chili powder, salt, ground black pepper, and Tajin Classico.

    Recipe variations and add ins:

    • Feel free to double or triple this recipe if you want to save more for later or if you are serving a crowd and want a large batch.
    • If you can't find Tajin seasoning omit it from the recipe or use another chile-lime spice blend.
    • For a spicier seasoning mix: add more chili powder or some cayenne pepper.
    • If you want a sweeter spice blend: add a little brown sugar or coconut sugar to the recipe.

How to make carne asada seasoning:

A bowl with different seasonings and spices in it with a spoon in it.
    1. Step 1: Place all the ingredients into a small bowl or mason jar.
A bowl with a seasoning blend in it and a spoon in it.
    1. Step 2: Mix everything well until the seasonings are well combined.

    How to use:

    • To make carne asada: squeeze fresh lime juice and orange juice onto both sides of a flank steak, flap steak or skirt steak. Then coat both sides of the beef with the spice blend. If you have time, refrigerate the meat for up to two hours or until you're ready to cook it. You can either grill, bake, or pan fry the steak. You can serve the cooked meat as a steak, or cut it into pieces to make carne asada tacos.
    • You can also use this seasoning blend for chicken, pork, turkey or other meats. It also tastes really good on fish and helps make great fish tacos.
