Gluten Free Burgers

These are the best gluten free burgers! They are so juicy and full of flavour and you will love how easy they are to make.

Equipment

  • Large bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped white onion
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup ketchup (or bbq sauce)
  • 2 tablespoon coconut aminos
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt (more or less to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (more or less to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper (more or less to taste)

Instructions

  • Place all of the ingredients in a bowl and using your hands, mix until the ingredients are combined.
  • Form the meat into eight patties about 1-1 1/2 inches thick. Use your thumb to make an indent in the centre of each one. This helps them stay together when you cook them.
  • Put the patties on a parchment-lined plate and refrigerate for ~30 minutes.

To grill

  • Heat your grill to medium heat. Cook the burgers for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the desired internal temperature has been reached. 

To pan fry

  • Add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil to a pan on medium heat. Once the oil is melted add the burger patties.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until the desired internal temperature has been reached.

To air fry

  • Preheat your air fryer to 370F. Place the patties on your air fryer trays or in the basket and cook for 10-13 minutes, flipping half way through, until the desired internal temperature has been reached.

Notes

  1. Nutritional values are an estimate and will vary depending on the exact ingredients used. 
  2. Be sure to put a thumb indent into the middle of each patty - this helps the patties stay together when they cook. 
  3. Store any leftover cooked burgers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
