I read scientific articles, follow and listen to experts in the field and read all the books I can. Some of the books I’ve read weren’t that helpful, but some are packed full of useful information. The Best Healthy Living and Wellness Books
- Slow Death by Rubber Ducky
This is a fantastic book. It is packed full of information about the various toxins that are in our environment, the history behind them and how they are still allowed to be used despite all the evidence that they are harmful. It is extremely eye opening. It’s so good that I’ve actually read it twice! I cannot recommend it enough.
This book is all about hormone disruptors. It is extremely eye opening and reviews the numerous health effects of these chemicals, where to find them, and how to avoid them. It’s written by one of the leading scientists and physicians in the field Dr. Leonardo Trasande. This is another book that I’ve read twice because it’s so good.
This book is written by Leah Segedie, who is the author and force behind Mamavation.com. Her website is an incredible resource when it comes to healthy living information and her book is one of my favourites. She breaks things down into practical, useful information and has lists of brands which are safe and free of toxins which are so, so helpful!
Now I will preface this one by saying that this book is LONG! But, if you want to see just how devastating our modern, North American style diet can be on our health, this book is for you. It was one of the first books I read when I started using nutrition to heal my body and it was so eye opening. So many of our current health issues can be attributed to the “foods” we are eating today and this book documents that like no other.
