One of the best things about air fryers is how good they are at cooking foods from frozen like juicy air fryer frozen steak and air fryer frozen burritos, and today I am going to show you the best way to air fry a frozen pizza!

Why you will love this cook method:

    • It's so easy! It takes less than 10 minutes to cook frozen pizza in an air fryer and most brands only take 6-8 minutes of cooking time.
    • Air fried frozen pizza turns out perfectly with a nice crispy crust that is never soggy or dry and you can add your own toppings to give it the taste you prefer.
    • You don't need to heat up the whole kitchen like when you cook pizza in an oven.
    • It's usually cheaper to make pizza at home rather than ordering it so this is a great way to cut down your food costs and help you save money.

    Ingredient notes:

    • A frozen pizza - you can use any type of frozen pizza that you like including homemade frozen pizza. Just be sure that it isn't too big to fit in your air fryer - 10 inches is the biggest that will fit in most models.

    Optional ingredient additions:

Feel free to add extra toppings to your pizza either before or after air frying it. Some options include chopped bell peppers, pineapple, olives, anchovies, fresh tomato, fresh basil, or red pepper flakes.

How to cook a frozen pizza in an air fryer:

A frozen pizza on an air fryer tray.

    Step 1

Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and then place the whole pizza in the air fryer, directly on the tray or in the basket, and cook it for 6-10 minutes. The cooking times will depend on the type of pizza you have and how large it is. I found that a 10 inch pizza usually takes 9 minutes to cook. Please refer to the time chart below for a guide of the times you should use for different types of pizzas.

Air fryer frozen pizza cooking times guide:

    • 8" mini pizza: 6-8 mins at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • 10" pizza: 8-10 mins at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Deep dish personal size pizza: 7-10 mins at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Ellio's pizza: 5 mins at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • French bread pizza: 5 mins at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Thin crust personal pizza: 6-8 mins at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Top Tips:

    • Depending on how you like your pizza crust you may need to adjust the cook time - for crispy pizza crust add a bit of additional cook time. For softer crust, cook for less time.
    • Depending on the size and type of the frozen pizza that you have, you may have to adjust the cook time.
    • You may need to adjust the cook time based on the thickness of crust on the pizza that you have. For thicker crust, add 1-2 minutes of cook time, for thinner crust cook for less time.
    • If the pizza that you buy comes with a parchment paper round, don't use it when you cook the pizza in the air fryer as the crust won't cook as well.
    • Be sure to remove the plastic wrap from the pizza before cooking it.
    • If food tends to stick to your air fryer, give the tray or air fryer basket a spray with avocado oil or olive oil before cooking the frozen pizza on it.
    • If you find the pizza toppings are burning when you air fry them, give the top of the pizza a spray with avocado oil (or another cooking oil of choice) before cooking it in your air fryer.
    • If you don't pre-heat your air fryer you will need to add more cooking time.

    Air fryer frozen pizza FAQs:

Can you air fry frozen vegetarian pizza?

Yes! Use the same cooking times that I shared in this post for vegetarian pizza.

How do I store leftover pizza?

Store any leftover cooked pizza in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Can I use an air fryer to reheat pizza?

Yes you can. To reheat any leftover pizza preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, then cook the pizza for 2-3 minutes.
