So I put together my 2017 Healthy Living Gift Guide to make your gift giving effortless this year. Because everyone deserves to have a merry, stress free Christmas.
2017 Healthy Living Gift Guide
Cookbooks
I love cookbooks. My collection is ridiculous. But not all of them are created equal. These are my absolute favourite paleo cookbooks. If you or someone you love is looking to eat healthier in 2018 I would highly recommend any of these books.

Beauty and Skincare
If you've been reading my blog for a while you know how passionate I am about choosing skincare and beauty products that are made with safe, non-toxic ingredients. If the idea of safe skincare is new to you, I highly suggest reading my posts 15 Scary Skincare Facts, Endocrine Disruptors, 8 Toxic Skincare Ingredients to Avoid, How I Healed My Acne Naturally, and How I Healed My Keratosis Pilaris Naturally. However, not all safe skincare and beauty products are created equally. I tried a lot of products that were safe, but worked terribly, before finding my favourites. If you have a lady in your life, I know they would love receiving any of these as gifts this holiday season.
Beautycounter Multi-Masker Set: This set contains my two favourite masks. The Charcoal Mask and the Brightening Mask. The charcoal one has been KEY in helping me heal my acne. I use it twice a week as a full face mask and nightly on any acne lesions. I also use the brightening and plumping masks once to twice per week. This set even comes with a brush to help with even application of these masks.
Beautycounter Clean Slate Charcoal Duo: Two of my favourite things in one great package. I already mentioned how much I love the Charcoal Mask, and another item that I cannot live without is the Charcoal Bar. It has been another key in healing my acne. I was my face with this one twice per day. I also use it on my back and chest to help with any acne spots that crop up there as well. This is also perfect for the men in your life. Yes you read that right. Erik uses these products just as much as I do and his skin has never looked better!
Beautycounter Cleansing Balm: Another item that I CANNOT live without. I use this as my makeup remover and as my overnight cream. It is also great for any kind of skin rashes or irritation. It has been another crucial item in healing my acne. If I stop using this one I notice a huge difference in my skin in a short period of time. And don't let the price scare you. This jar is huge and will last anywhere between 6-12 months.
Countermatch Intense Moisture Serum: This product is a new one for me, and I just started using it two weeks ago. However, in those two weeks I have seen such a huge difference in my skin texture. It is so much smoother than it used to be! The amazing thing about this particular line is that it adapts to your skin type, so it's good for almost everyone.
Sugar Body Scrub: This stuff smells amazing! And it leaves my skin feeling so, so smooth. This product has been key in helping me heal my keratosis pilaris.
Ultimate Nudes Eyeshadow Palette: If you have a makeup lover on your list they are going to love this! The colours in this eyeshadow palette are incredible. They are so pigmented and last a very long time. Plus their colour cosmetics are tested three times for heavy metal contamination so you know you are getting safe, yet effective makeup.
Winter Jewels Palette: Another must have for the makeup lover on your list. This is such a great deal because it contains 8 eyeshadows, 1 eyeliner, a blush and a highlighter all in one little set. I have been using this almost daily since I received mine.
Poppy Lip Duo: This is the perfect shade of red. I am not even a big lipstick girl but this lipgloss and lipstick combination is amazing! Perfect for all those Christmas and New Years celebrations. And they taste and smell like peppermint.
Volumizing Mascara: This is by far the best non-toxic mascara that I have ever tried. Mascara is pretty much the one makeup item that I always wear and I cannot recommend this one enough. This would make a great stocking stuffer!
Wellness Related
Total health is about more than just what you put in and on your body. There are many other things that come into play like proper sleep, exercise and oral health. This gifts are meant to help focus on all of those other things that will increase your overall health even more.
Blue Light Glasses: Do you spend a lot of time on your computer or phone? Did you know that the blue light that comes from your devices can not only strain your eyes but interfere with your sleep patterns? These Blue Light Glasses block that harmful light so you don't get those negative effects. I especially recommend using them if you will be looking at your screens 1-2 hours before bed. They may not be the most attractive things but they may greatly improve your health and sleep!
BPA Free Essential Oil Diffuser: I love diffusing essential oils in my home. Doing so at night has greatly improved the way I sleep. However, not all diffusers are created equally. You want to make sure you are picking one made without the hormone disrupting BPA used in many plastics.
Wake-Up Light Alarm Clock: For some reason all of my wellness gifts seem to be sleep related this year. But good sleep is extremely important so I don't feel bad about that. Waking up to natural light is ideal. Unfortunately, during the winter months that isn't always possible. So getting an alarm clock that can simulate natural light for you is key.
Electric Toothbrush: If you follow me on Instagram you hear my talk about gum and teeth health frequently. One key to healthy teeth and gums is using an electric toothbrush. I actually got one for Christmas a couple years ago and I was so grateful when I did. That was one item I just had no interest in buying myself. But I was more than happy to have someone else buy one for me and put it under the tree!
Skipping Rope: One of my favourite, simple, fitness tools. I always pack a skipping rope with me when I travel because skipping provides such a fun and effective workout.
Workout Tights: Pretty workout gear is one of my favourite things. Honestly I swear I workout harder when I am wearing nice workout clothes. For me a high waist and non-slip material is key. And these leggings have both of those! They can also be worn outside the gym because they are just that pretty.
Alo Yoga Sports Bra: Like the workout tights above, this sports bra is almost too pretty to work out in. Almost. I just discovered Alo Yoga earlier this year and am loving their stuff! It's not only gorgeous but high quality and holds up really well.
Kitchen Tools
Let's be honest. Buying kitchen tools for yourself isn't the most exciting thing. But somehow receiving them as gifts is a totally different story. Here are a few gadgets that I could not live without. They will making eating healthy, real food, so much easier
Immersion Blender: I use mine for so many things! Making soups, home-made mayonnaise, dips and sauces. I honestly don't know what I would do without one.
Slow Cooker: You guys all know how much I love my slow cooker. I use that thing ALL THE TIME! If you are looking to eat healthier, but don't want to slave away in the kitchen to do so I highly suggest investing in one (or gifting it to someone you love).
Food Processor: Another essential in my kitchen! I use it to make dips, energy balls, fudge (yes fudge) and so much more.
Vitamix: This may sound dramatic but this device will change your life. Yes I love mine that much. It is out almost constantly in our house. We make smoothes, soups, sauces, dips and so much more in it.
Instant Pot: Like a slow cooker but FAST! This device has been all the rage lately, and for good reason. It makes delicious meals in almost no time at all. There is even a Paleo Cooking In Your Instant Pot Cookbook that would be a great addition as a gift.
Dehydrator: Home made dried fruit, beef jerky, dehydrated nuts. Yes these things are all possible with a dehydrator. I actually got one for Christmas last year and have been using it regularly ever since.
Waffle Maker: Because what is Saturday morning brunch without waffles? It may sound like a frivolous item to have but trust me you will put this to good use.
Coffee Grinder: If you aren't grinding your own coffee beans yet you have no idea what you are missing. Freshly ground coffee is just so much better than already ground. If you don't believe me then I dare you to try it.
